Vincent Grassi has won over everyone at Huntington High School with his sincerity and good nature. The senior has enjoyed a great run and will soon be headed off to Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study computer science.

Mr. Grassi has excelled in many activities, including serving as captain of the high school’s robotics team and serving as an executive in last year’s Virtual Enterprise program.

“Huntington Robotics really pushed me towards being involved in STEM,” Mr. Grassi said. “There’s no other class or club in the school that prepares you for real life like robotics does. Mr. [Omar] Santiago is a great advisor. He truly wants everyone to succeed and find their passion.”

Mr. Grassi got his start in Huntington UFSD at Washington Primary School. He stood out then and still does as a really nice guy. He’s kind and considerate and almost always wears a smile on his face.

The mix of robotics and Virtual Enterprise has served Mr. Grassi well. “VE combined with being the captain of robotics; I want to continue being involved with business,” he said. “Whether it was presenting to large groups of people, obtaining sponsors and marketing the club - I really enjoy managing projects. Hopefully, I can combine my interest in a way where the workload will be manageable.”

The teenager played on the Blue Devil boys’ soccer team throughout most of his high school years. He’s vice president of the Italian Honor Society and a member of several other honor societies, too.

“I really loved my experience at the high school,” Mr. Grassi said. “Thank you Huntington for giving me all the resources to succeed. I can’t wait for the future.”
