Nikolai Seferian Advances to State Track Championships

Huntington senior Nikolai Seferian is headed to the state track and field championships in Middletown later this week after winning the 400m hurdles at the Section XI state qualifier at Comsewogue last Friday.
Seferian turned in his best performance of the season, winning in the finals with a time of 55.49 seconds. It’s one of the fastest times in the state this spring and puts him in contention for All-State honors this week.
Taconic Hills junior Neil Howard owns the best time in the 400m hurdles. Howard clocked a time of 53.73 seconds last month at the Glenn D. Loucks Games in White Plains.
A National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, Seferian has excelled academically, artistically, athletically and in every other possible way. He will be attending Georgetown University where he plans to run on the NCAA Division I track team and study political science and government in preparation for a career in public service.
A state champion and All-American in track and field, the teenager has played a key role on the Blue Devil indoor and outdoor teams throughout high school.
Seferian is the tutoring coordinator for Huntington’s Science and Math Honor Societies. He’s secretary of the National Honor Society and treasurer of the English Honor Society and the Women’s Empowerment club.
