Southdown School Celebrates May’s Star Students

Seeing children working hard and having fun doing it is priceless. There’s so much of that going on at Southdown Primary School, where the 2022/23 school year is racing to a fine conclusion.

Southdown has a wonderful group of young people studying within its walls this year. Classroom after classroom is filled with boys and girls who are excited to come to school and work alongside their friends and with teachers they respect and value.

Southdown recently celebrated its Stars of the Month for May. It’s a great group, all boasting individual gifts and talents and colorful personalities.

May’s honorees include: Universal pre-kindergarten: Geovanni Baez; Kindergarten: Jackson Kessler, Isaiah Booker, Dereck Ruiz Ruiz, Matthew Sabino; First grade: Layla Servidio, Brayden Ortega Perdomo, Emily Morales, Saul Castro Martinez; Second grade: Yosuar Menjivar Castro, Francesco “Frankie” Savatta, Christopher Vilorio Ramos; Third grade: Leo McLaughlin, Adrian Martinez, Skylar Nunez, Jesenia Gutierrez Sanchez, Anastasia Calderon

With only a few weeks remaining in the school year, students are making every last minute count. They haven’t stopped learning, but they are also having lots of fun at numerous special events.

Southdown opened in September 1954. It’s always had energetic students, many of whom went on to accomplish great things in their respective career fields. That same magic is still there with the latest generation to call the school home.
