Annalise Schettino Wins Gooding Wellness Scholarship

Annalise Schettino is the recipient of the first ever Gooding Wellness Group Aspiring Helper Scholarship. The Huntington High School Class of 2023 member plans to study early childhood education at Adelphi University in Garden City.
Gordon Gooding, the founder and director of the Cold Spring Harbor based Gooding Wellness Group was on hand at the high school’s senior scholarships and awards ceremony to announce that Ms. Schettino had won the first ever $250 scholarship presented by the company.
A National Honor Society member, Ms. Schettino points to a positive attitude, support from her family and help from “amazing teacher and staff members” as the key to her success, which includes being named a Distinguished Senior.
Ms. Schettino participated in a career internship that saw her help children in the YMCA’s after school program at Southdown Primary School.
The teenager’s extracurricular activities included Key Club Etcetera literary magazine and the Huntington Youth Council. Ms. Schettino’s art work and photographs have been exhibited at various shows.
The Gooding Wellness Group Aspiring Helper Scholarship requires the recipient to have overcome one or more obstacles in their academic or personal life and displayed resilience and a strong ability to bounce back and persevere; demonstrated commitment to helping others, such as volunteer work in the community, membership in clubs with a helping mission, assisting teachers, being some their friends rely on for support or guidance; chosen to pursue a college degree in mental health, healthcare or teaching.
