Class of 2023 Members Capture HARTE Scholarships

Vito Aloe, Alejandra Arana Villegas, Julie Reyes-Fuentes closed out standout runs through Huntington High School by being honored by the Huntington Association of Retired Teachers and Employees with $1,000 scholarships.

The formal presentation was made by HARTE President Martha Ironman at the high school’s senior scholarships and awards ceremony in the auditorium.

All three HARTE scholarship award recipients are held in high esteem by their teachers and classmates. Each of them has contributed in their own unique way to the high school over the past four years.

Mr. Aloe will be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Ms. Arana Villegas has already secured employment and is pursuing her hopes and dreams. Ms. Reyes-Fuentes plans to pursue a degree at St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue.

Mrs. Ironman spoke about each of the HARTE scholarship award recipients and their personal qualities. She also briefly discussed the organization and its continuing commitment to Huntington USFD and its students.

The HARTE scholarship is funded by dues from the organization’s 294 members.
