Anthony Annunziata has been tapped by the Suffolk County chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame as a Scholar Athlete. The Huntington High School senior has been invited to the organization’s annual brunch at the Marriott Melville Long Island on April 23. Only one student was selected from each high school in the county.
“You will be receiving several commemorative awards and be individually recognized during the brunch for your achievements both on and off the field,” said Leonard Genova, president of the Suffolk chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame.
Mr. Annunziata has garnered varsity athletic letters at Huntington in football, wrestling and lacrosse. He captained and quarterbacked the Blue Devil football team last fall.
The National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame was founded nationally in 1947 and is a non-profit educational organization that promotes amateur football and recognizes those student-athletes that achieve academic and athletic excellence. There are 120 chapters throughout the country with over 14,000 members, all of whom are volunteers and participate because they believe in the positive role athletics can play in the development of youth. The Suffolk chapter was formed in 1995.
Mr. Annunziata has given Yale University a verbal commitment to play on its NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse team.
