Washington Celebrates Student Award Recipients

january 3, 2023

It’s a brand new year, but the hundreds of students attending Washington Primary School are picking up where they left off before the holidays and vacation. The youngsters resumed school with a spring in their step and the same enthusiasm they always display regardless of the subject area.

Prior to heading off for the break from classes, Washington Principal Michelle Richards announced the names of Washington’s December student award recipients. Officially named the Washington Ways Award, recipients are frequently called Washington Winners.

“The December award recipients demonstrated the Washington expectations throughout the month of December,” Dr. Richards said. “We are proud of their dedication. They are role models for their peers and great citizens in the Washington Primary School community.”

Award recipients include Isabella Garcia Granados and Nodas Kekatos, Xavi Portillo/Sofia Ramirez, Leah Cortez, Zyla Thomas, Sarah Royce, Jaslin Velasquez Umanzor, Eliam Lopez, Lucas Escobar, William Yoda, Lorenzo Lopez Velasquez, Olivia Van Cott, Diogenes Reyes Pineda, Arianna Hollman, Jason Flores Gonzalez, Yuval Barak Elitsur, Lylah Murtaza and Emma Harkinish.

The entire classes of teachers Vicki Creighton and Tina Laurie were also recognized for their exceptional effort in and out of classrooms and all around the school building.

Washington students love academic challenges. The subject doesn’t really matter. They are up for tackling any topic and work hard to master it.

“We are so proud of all these award winners and all of our students here at Washington Primary School,” Dr. Richards said.

With January underway, Washington students are busy working on their portfolios of achievement. They like being recognized for their classroom efforts and are equally happy to be spotted doing a good deed around the school building.

Dr. Richards and Washington’s faculty, staff and parents have many more special events planned between now and June
