Still Time to Join a High School Sports Team

The fall athletic season got underway at Huntington High School this week as all varsity the JV teams began practices on Monday. More than 325 students have been cleared for participation by the nurse. It’s not too late to join the fun.

Most sports require six practices prior to participating in a scrimmage or game. Football and girls’ gymnastics require 10 practices. But that’s not an obstacle to joining a team a few days late.

Interested in joining the Blue Devil fall family? The following forms must be submitted to the school nurse prior to participation:

1. Required NYS Health Examination Form (click for link)

Physical exams can be performed by private doctor or school doctor and are valid for one year.

2. Interval Health History for Sports Participation (English/Spanish) (click for link)

A new form is required for each season; must be completed by parent/guardian, signed in ink and dated within 30 days of the start of the season.
