Blue Devil Band Training Camp Underway

Huntington Blue Devil marching band members started their two week training camp last week. The band camp journey is now well underway and headed to what everyone believes will be a successful conclusion next weekend.

Band members have been practicing the 2023 field show music and movements. “The kids have learned and been working on the music that is being played for this year’s production as well as learning and refining our visual components that help bring a marching band show to life,” said Andre Rizzuto, a Huntington High School music teacher who serves as the band’s director.

Last week’s preliminary camp sessions involved starting to put the show together on the marching band field at J. Taylor Finley Middle School. The musicians and color guard members along with the band’s staff members worked hard to bring the show to life.

“We invite the Huntington community to come join us to see the beginning stages of our 2023 show, ‘The Children of Zeus,’” Mr. Rizzuto said. “Our band camp performance will take place on Sunday, August 27 at at 2 p.m. at Finley. We hope that everyone can make it to our band camp performance and show support to the for the Huntington Blue Devil marching band.”
