Determined. It’s a singular word that defines Mia Molina. The Huntington High School junior pursues her goals with enthusiasm and staying power that’s downright inspirational. She has many talents and is making good use of all of them.

“This year, I aim to actively participate in numerous school clubs and activities,” Ms. Molina said. “Currently, I’m a member of the French Honor Society club and I invite everyone to attend our bake sales and events. I am also involved in sports such as field hockey and softball.”

Ms. Molina said she plans to participate in the drama club’s fall and spring productions while exploring other clubs, too. “Recently, I’ve developed a keen interest in joining the mock trial club,” she said.

A confident young woman, Ms. Molina is a very hard worker. She’s articulate and well-informed and she’s respected by everyone.

“This year holds many exciting moments for me,” Ms. Molina said. “To start off, I am very eager for the two following events: The upcoming acoustic night performance and our annual bonfire, both of which I plan to attend. You’ll find me at the French and chamber choir booths during these events. Specifically, at the acoustic night at Jack Abrams School, I’ll be performing ‘September Song’ with guitar accompanist, Michael Zigon who I’ve performed with before in the annual K-Factor and look forward to doing so again. I’m also eager for the upcoming spring sports season and the conclusion of the field hockey season this fall. I’m also currently involved in the Etcetera literary magazine club and I encourage fellow students who enjoy writing short stories and poems to join.”

The teenager enjoyed a great summer vacation, “leaving me with a sense of solitude and the opportunity to spend quality time with close friends and my boyfriend,” Ms. Molina said. “Surprisingly, I didn’t take part in any sports during this season, which is unusual for me since I typically participate in at least one. However, this break from sports allowed me to cherish carefree moments filled with joy and happiness. Aside from this, I dedicated most of my time to my job. What made this past summer special, however, was the cherished moments with loved ones and the exploration of new places, like my trip to Massachusetts for my boyfriend’s prom.”

The junior is doing well in and out of the classroom. “Huntington High School has been a transformative journey for me, shaping not only my academic path, but also my personal growth,” Ms. Molina said. “I’ve discovered new parts of myself and begun to see myself from a fresh perspective. Every day, I strive to make the most of my time at this school, cherishing the moments spent with incredible people. As I now come to my last two years here, I’m determined to make them the most meaningful and memorable of all.”

Ms. Molina has been taking stock of her interests as she begins to consider possible college and career plans.

“College plays a significant role in my life and at this point, I’m in the process of discovering my academic focus,” Ms. Molina said. “I’m a determined individual who’s always open to new opportunities. My passion for psychology, therapy and human development has been a constant in my life, driving my interest in working with people and providing assistance to those in need. Alongside this, I find personal satisfaction in my love for travel and continuous learning. My future remains an unwritten chapter, so I’m actively shaping my present to explore the possibilities that lie ahead.”
