Ms. Correal is enrolled in AP Computer Science, AP Spanish Language, AP US Government and Politics and AP French Language, among other classes. She plays on the varsity volleyball and flag football teams and dances with the Huntington Highsteppers. She’s been in the cast of three separate drama club productions.

“I’m very excited that I am a senior this year,” Ms. Correal said. “I am looking forward to going to the nationals with the Highsteppers in February. I am also hoping that I can go for the second time on the Habitat for Humanity service trip and I am excited to start planning for senior prom.”

The senior is in her fourth year of serving as the Class of 2024’s vice president. She volunteers with the high school’s Habitat for Humanity chapter and is a member of both the French Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society She plans on joining the A World of Difference club and Grandfriends.

“My experience at Huntington High School has been very fulfilling, exciting and challenging,” Ms. Correal said. “I’ve had obstacles that I was able to overcome and that made me grow as a person. My years here have also been exciting because there is so much to do here that keep me busy, I’ve also made a lot friends over the years through these different clubs and sports that I do.”

The teenager obtained her driver’s license early in the summer. “I worked most of the summer at the YMCA as a camp counselor,” Ms. Correal said. “I had family come to my house this summer as well. In June, my two cousins came from Colombia to visit New York for the first time and in July, my aunt who lives in France came to visit with my cousin and her mother in law. In August, I went to Florida. I visited Tampa, Orlando, Fort-Lauderdale and Miami. This trip was so much fun because I got to visit a lot of different places and I went to Disney World for the first time. I went to four different parks while I was there, including Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios/Island of Adventures.”

A delightful young woman, Ms. Correal can sing, dance and act, she’s athletic, articulate and a leader. The teenager has many friends who value her friendship, love, support and encouragement.

“I’m looking into some colleges in the city as well as upstate,” Ms. Correal said. “I want to major in computer science and minor in cyber security. In the future I would love to work either in the U.S Government or in the U.S military as a cyber security specialist.”
