Blue Devil Girls’ Tennis Rallies for Pink Aid
October 24, 2023
Huntington girls’ tennis players joined their colleagues from Harborfields and Cold Spring Harbor this past Sunday for a four hour court marathon to raise much needed funds to support the mission of Pink Aid, a not-for-profit whose mission is to help underserved breast cancer patients survive treatment with support and dignity, to provide screening and financial assistance to those in need and to empower breast cancer survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others.
Blue Devil alum Anna Bell Young was one of the original founders of the event, but with the teenager now off to Boston for her freshman year at Tufts University, Huntington team captain Isabella Palacios assumed responsibility the Blue Devils’ end of the event.
“In past years, Anna Bell Young organized this event,” Isabaella Palacios said. “As team captain I chose to continue this annual fundraiser. Pairing with the non-profit Pink-Aid and working with Huntington, Harborfields and Cold Spring Harbor players and parents as well as others that joined with us, we were able to raise more than $4,000. It was a lot of fun and a great success. The event was a real community effort and a wonderful day.”
Ms. Palacios was joined by teammates Mia Kaufman, Emma Polinsky, Vincenza Garofalo and Finley star Violet Palacios. Huntington coach Jamie Fishlow joined his players during the day, which stretched from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
