October 19, 2023

Alexis Rodriguez is striving to make his senior year at Huntington High School his best one yet. Clubs, sports and school plays – The teenager plans to embrace a varied set of opportunities outside of the classroom and have fun while doing it.

“Some of the courses I’m taking this year is Music Theory with Mr. [Andre] Rizzuto; Multicultural Literature with Mrs. [Gina] Colica and Ms. [Barbara] Noble to name a few,” Mr. Rodriguez said. “Some of the clubs and activities I’m going to be involved in are the debate club, varsity badminton, esports, and K-Factor.”

Mr. Rodriguez said he’s “very excited” to participate in the K-Factor talent show after illness kept him on the sidelines last year. “I’m looking forward to work with Mrs. [Kelly] Krycinski and Mike Zigon, who were a great help last year and were great to work with.”

The senior comes to school each day with a positive frame of mind. “My experience at Huntington High School this year has been promising and living up to my expectations in how I have my friends in my class; good classes and how this will be my final year and I am already excited about the future,” Mr. Rodriguez said.

The teenager spent last summer recovering from the surgical repair of his kneecap and hanging out with his family and friends.

“I have one dream college and that is Berklee College of Music in Boston, which is regarded as one of the best music schools in the country,” Mr. Rodrigues said. He plans to study vocal performance.

“One career interest that I’ve been eyeing is to become a musician/singer and be able to just do what I love and make my family proud,” Mr. Rodriguez said.
