Fun and Games at Washington Science & Technology Night
October 18, 2023
Washington Primary School’s Science & Technology Family Engagement Night lived up to its billing as parents and students came together for a special evening designed to whet the intellectual appetites of every participant.
Dr. Michelle Richards helped lead the planning for the evening, which allowed parents to explore the science and technology programs and materials that Washington School students and teachers utilize in their classes.
Families rotated through various learning stations, spending about 15 minutes at each of them. There were informative and fun activities at the stations, including:
• Hands-on Learning with OHM Science: Engage in science experiments that represent the current units of study
• Coding and Movement: Code Ozobots and observe them follow various pathways around the gymnasium
• Escape the Lab: Use critical thinking skills to find clues and earn prizes.
“A special thank you goes to the Washington Family Engagement committee faculty members for planning the event,” Dr. Richards said. “And, thank you to the Washington faculty members who facilitated the evening’s activities. It was a night of learning and fun for all.”
Washington Primary School opened in September 1954. Since then, thousands of young people from the community have studied there. Washington alumni include those who have excelled in virtually every career field and academic discipline.
