October 18, 2023

James Rosselli returned to Huntington High School late last week to speak to students enrolled in Video Broadcasting I and II classes. A member of last year’s graduating class, he has moved on to High Point University in North Carolina and has already begun announcing college games on ESPN+.

Mr. Rosselli was a student in Huntington High School’s first video broadcasting class and he was an instrumental part of the program’s development.

Mr. Rosselli was back in town during a break in his college classes. He came to Huntington High School “to inspire future broadcasters,” said teacher Kristen Fiorenti, who leads the video broadcasting program. “James gave tips and encouragement as students practiced speaking scripts read off the teleprompter. He also gave examples in front of the camera, helping students to look as natural as possible while filming.”

The recent Huntington alum hit the ground running at High Point and is already thriving. Mr. Rosselli’s work announcing college games on ESPN+ speaks volumes. “It is rare that a freshman would be given the opportunity to announce,” Ms. Fiorenti said. “His high school experience has set him above the rest, giving him valuable experience to help his career and education now in college.”
