David Dax Makes His Mark at Huntington

David Asher Dorilus Dax is well on his way to leaving an indelible mark at Huntington High School where the senior is excelling. The affable teenager is a star athlete and regarded as a really nice guy and well-liked by everyone.

Captain of the Blue Devil varsity football, winter and spring track and field teams, Mr. Dax is president of the high school’s social justice club. A member of the Machar club, the teenager plans to participated in the Skills USA program at Wilson Tech this year.

“I’m really excited for all three seasons of sports, especially football,” Mr. Dax said. “The love I have for the game is like no other.”

Mr. Dax is the secretary of Huntington High School’s varsity club, which is comprised of students who stimulate general interest in all athletics’ promote greater participation in sports; foster enthusiastic team and school spirit; promote the highest qualities of fellowship, sportsmanship and honor; help maintain pleasant athletic relationships with other educational institutions; enable its members to participate in social, athletic and financial activities within the club, school and community; and engage in leadership training and practices.

“My experience at Huntington High School is been amazing,” Mr. Dax said. “I can proudly say that Huntington is my home.”

The teenager spent a good part of last summer training and preparing for the football season and “just trying to get better every day.”

Mr. Dax is a popular classmate and teammate. He is dependable and a pleasant young man. Personable, well-spoken and with a good sense of humor, he can engage and converse with people of all ages and from all walks of life.

“I’m looking at the Fordham University, Syracuse University and LIU, to potentially play football at the next level,” Mr. Dax said.

Mr. Dax is a member of the defending county champion Blue Devil mock trial team. He plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice and then go on to law school.
