“I am going to continue to participate in all the activities and clubs I have been involved in during the past four years. “Right now, I am playing soccer and will play lacrosse in the spring. I will also continue involvement in the National Honor Society, as well as Social Studies, English, Math, Spanish, Science and Art Honor Societies.”

Ms. Murtagh enjoys volunteering with the Huntington’s Habitat for Humanity and Key Club chapters and she assists the Helping Hand Rescue Mission during the holidays with their program of giving.

The senior spent last summer working at The Head of the Bay Club as a lifeguard and swim instructor. “I also spent time at the beach with my friends and took a trip with my parents to Colorado Springs,” Ms. Murtagh said.

The teenager has been looking forward to participating in the high school’s credit bearing career internship program and working with teachers Paige Tyree and Eileen Gonzalez. “I am also excited about getting involved in the new Fashion Marketing class,” she said.

Ms. Murtagh is a sweet young woman and well-spoken. She’s kind and considerate and a loyal friend to many classmates. “I've had a great high school experience with amazing teachers, coaches and friends,” she said.

While there is still a long way to go before graduation next June, Ms. Murtagh is planning for the future. “In terms of college, I am interested in studying marketing and advertising and want to attend a large university with a strong business school in a fun town that reminds me of Huntington,” she said.
