Sophie Carlson Wins Over Huntington High School

October 4, 2023

Sophie Carlson’s laugh, smile and kind personality has won over everyone at Huntington High School. The junior is very popular with her classmates, teammates and teachers and for good reason; she’s an all-around wonderful young woman.

Ms. Carlson is enrolled in Advanced Placement Biology, AP English Language and Composition, Statistics (for college credit), Spanish IV, US History and Virtual Enterprise. She’s the chief marketing officer for VE class company.

The teenager plans to play on the varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams. She volunteers with the high school’s Habitat for Humanity and Key Club chapters and has been chosen to serve as a Natural Helper, assisting classmates during difficult times as they work through personal and family challenges.

“I’m especially excited for the upcoming lacrosse season and to work with my Virtual Enterprise class,” Ms. Carlson said. She’s loved by her teammates for her easygoing ways and encouraging attitude. The junior always works hard and does her best.

Last summer, Ms. Carlson worked as a camp counselor and lifeguard at the Head of the Bay Club.

“My high school experience has been great,” Ms. Carlson said. “I especially enjoy all of my sports teams and developing closer relationships with my teammates.”

Ms. Carlson’s future plans have not come into focus just yet. “I’m not sure what I exactly want to major in or any particular school, but I know I want to go to a big school and possibly go into marketing,” she said.
