Blue Devils Announce Winter Season Captains

The winter season is well underway at Huntington High School. Coaches of ten varsity teams have announced their captains and the group includes many familiar faces.
“Being a team captain means accepting responsibility for your team,” states the US Sports Camps website. “You become the team leader and must set the standard of what it means to be a great teammate. Team leaders are essential to executing your vision for your team and setting the tone for your teammates.”
The organization says the five qualities that make for a great team captain are: 1. Lead by example; 2. Be positive; 3. Communication; 4. Teach leadership; 5. Be caring
Huntington’s winter season varsity team captains include:
Girls Basketball: Kayleigh Bender, Lauren Donaghy, Reese Rinaldi, Jenna Italiano
Boys Basketball: Thomas Girimonti, Jayson Colato
Girls Winter Track & Field: Jannel Marroquin, Elizabeth James, Olivia Polinsky
Boys Winter Track & Field: David Dax, Jahmar Francis, John Genova, Ethan Goleski, Max Carino, Ethan Lawless, Nikolai Lulewich
Boys Fencing: Sabre: Ben Edgar-McNerney, Thomas Galicia-Martinez; Foil: Jake Amend, Chase Williams; Epee: Cole Lima, Owen Stevens

Many of the winter season captains will be asked to help lead their teammates in completing a community service project.
