Senior Talia Addeo Chooses Univ. of Tennessee-Knoxville

Talia Addeo is an articulate and vibrant young woman who ranks near the top of Huntington High School’s Class of 2023. The teenager is headed to the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in the fall to study animal science in preparation for a career as a veterinarian.
Ms. Addeo got her start in Huntington UFSD at Washington Primary School as a kindergartener. Even then she was a standout. All these years later she is still excelling. The senior notched a second marking period academic average in excess of 95.
The teenager is currently taking classes in Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition, AP US Government & Politics with Economics, AP Drawing, Regents Physics, Spanish V Honors, Calculus and Symphony Orchestra.
Over the past four years, Ms. Addeo has regularly been a three season athlete, running or race-walking on the Blue Devil cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams. This spring she is a founding member of Huntington’s brand new varsity girls’ golf team.
Ms. Addeo captained the cross country team as a junior and senior. Through every sport season she has maintained academic excellence, routinely capturing New York State Scholar Athlete Award honors.
A member of five separate academic honor societies, Ms. Addeo is president of Huntington High School’s Art Honor Society. She’s was chosen by her classmates to serve as a Natural Helper, assisting and supporting others as they work through difficult personal and family challenges. She volunteers with the high school’s Habitat for Humanity and Key Club chapters. She also a member of the Environmental Club, working alongside classmates to make the school and community greener and cleaner.
A violinist with the high school’s orchestra, Ms. Addeo has always appreciated music. She’s cherished by her classmates, teammates, teachers, coaches and advisors. The teenager gives her all to everything she does.
Outside of school, Ms. Addeo spends her time shadowing at Island Veterinary Group and assisting at AKC dog shows as a member of the Long Island Kennel Club. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
“Overall, I’m happy with my time in Huntington,” Ms. Addeo said. “From Washington Primary to now, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing teachers and friends as well as having experiences that put me on the path to success.”
