Finley Art Students Exhibiting Work in St. James

March 20, 2023

Eight J. Taylor Finley Middle School students have had artwork chosen for exhibit at the 2nd Annual Middle & High School Student Artists Juried Show at The Atelier at Flowerfield in St. James.

The Finley student-artists include Angeline Arreaga Vega, Anya Goleski, Nataly A Posada, Leah MacManus, Jordyn Gross, Kate Gordon, Talia Hayden and Veda Gross.

The exhibition encourages the work of middle and high school student artists in all visual arts except photography and video. It is being held in The Atelier’s 2,000 square foot gallery, which functions both as a professional studio space and exhibition area. The gallery is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge to enter.

“All eight students entered the shading projects they did with me in Studio Art this year and were accepted by a jury to have their work displayed in the large art gallery at Flowerfield’s Atelier,” Ms. Simms said. “I am so proud of how hard my eighth grade Studio Art students worked on these charcoal and graphite still lives and that several of them were able to have their work displayed in a professional gallery setting.”

The artwork will be on display through March 30. An opening reception was held Saturday, March 4 where the gifted Finley students and the other artists with pieces on display were celebrated.
