March 3, 2023

Huntington High School’s three Virtual Enterprise companies are flying high. Each of the firms has been notified it has qualified for the final round of national business competitions.

OmniBus, Pulse and Real World are Huntington’s three dynamic Virtual Enterprise companies. Teacher Paige Furman has been working with the teenagers who have really embraced their roles and the challenges each of the firm has faced.

OmniBus has qualified for the finals of the national business plan competition. “The students are all so excited,” Mrs. Furman said. The firm will compete at the Youth Business Summit in New York City on April 17.

OmniBus presenters include Nikolai Seferian, Sophie Lange, Ava Tizzio, Ryan Lawless and Izabela Cuji.

Only 12 of the 102 Virtual Enterprise firms on Long Island qualified for the National Business Plan finals and only 40 of 540 national firms advanced.

The Pulse and Real World Virtual Enterprise firms have both qualified for the national marketing competition, which will also be held on April 17 in New York City during the Youth Business Summit.

Pulse company presenters include Reese Rinaldi, Riley Murtagh, Thomas Girimonti, Ella O’Heir, Brooke Parks and John Genova.

Real World presentation team members include Tim Kusterbeck, Adriana Abbatiello, Roman Borovica and Estefany Quijada Mojica.

“The Youth Business Summit brings together thousands of rising young professionals, budding entrepreneurs, educators, school district administrators, business leaders and industry professionals from around the world for a one-of-a-kind global convention,” according to Virtual Enterprise International. “During a dynamic week of business competitions, leadership events, and professional networking, rising talent from middle and high schools around the world display the professional skills and business acumen they have developed by running a Virtual Enterprise company during the school year.”
