Free Finley Girls’ Lacrosse Intramurals to be Offered

Another free intramural opportunity will soon be available to J. Taylor Finley Middle School girls. Plans have been finalized to offer an early morning girls’ lacrosse intramural program throughout the winter months in the lead-up to the spring season.

Seventh and eighth graders are invited to participate. These school sponsored sessions will include general conditioning and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of lacrosse.

The program will run on Monday mornings from 7:15-7:50 a.m. The first session is set for January 8 with additional sessions scheduled for January 29, February 5, February 26 March 4 and March 18. This is not a try-out for the Finley spring season.

All Finley girls who are interested in lacrosse are invited to attend these free sessions. Participants should report dressed and ready to play. Bring a lacrosse stick.

Attendance at all sessions is not required. Participate when it is convenient. Explore offensive, defensive and special skills as individual interest dictates. Interested? Send a message to Finley teacher-coach Hildi Stanford at hstanford@hufsd.edu if you intend to participate.

If weather permits, sessions will be held outdoors. During cold and/or inclement weather days, sessions will be held in the school gym.
