Senior Brooke Evans Chooses Pace University
April 28, 2023
Brooke Evans is a happy, optimistic and altogether wonderful young woman. The Huntington High School senior plans to attend Pace University at its New York City campus and study business and fashion marketing.
“Fashion has been one of my interests for several years and taking fashion through the years at Huntington High School has helped me figure out that I want to work in the fashion business after I graduate,” Ms. Evans said.
The teenager is creative and hardworking and has an artist’s eye and flair. Those who know Ms. Evans believe she’s tailor made to work in the fashion industry.
“I can’t wait to go to school in the city because it will give me many opportunities to work in the fashion business that I wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else,” Ms. Evans said. Taking advantage of opportunities has played a key role in the senior’s success.
“Throughout my four years at Huntington High School I have been on the Highsteppers, which is the school’s dance team,” Ms. Evans said. “When I am not at school, I take dance classes two nights a week and teach younger dancers hip hop on the weekends. Some of my best memories while being in Huntington have been with the Highstepping team! I love being able to perform at football games, basketball games, competitions and going to Florida for nationals to end the season.”
Ms. Evans will be missed around the high school next fall, but she knows it’s time to move on to the next chapter of her life. Still, she will miss Huntington and always have a home here.
“Overall, I am so happy that I got to experience all of these great things at Huntington High School,” Ms. Evans said. “I have met some of the most encouraging teachers and my best friends throughout my four years.”
