STEM School Fourth Grade Block Party Fun
September 30, 2022
There was no shortage of fun and laughter last Friday as newly minted Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School fourth graders got together for their first event; a block party.
The event, held in the school’s playground area, was a picture perfect experience for more than 100 youngsters. “There was lots of room to meander, make new friends and enjoy,” Principal Donna Moro said.
Hosted by the PTA, there were plenty of fun activities ranging from a pick up soccer game and playing with gigantic blow up beach balls to having a picture taken in front of a gorgeous backdrop. Of course, the playground equipment was in full use, too.
Refreshments were plentiful including pizza, drinks and lots of snacks. Even more important, as far as the kids were concerned, was seeing some old friends and making new ones “as students from all four primary schools came together to make this fabulous fourth grade class,” Ms. Moro said.
Bringing every together for a fun Friday night event was the goal and no one can dispute the PTA reached out.
The senior is also taking classes in calculus and physics. She has always excelled academically and this year is no different as she strives to complete her time in Huntington on a high note.
“Our PTA was out in full force to support the event and also to garner new members to the organization,” Ms. Moro said. “Whether you can volunteer a little or a lot or even if you’re just too busy this time of year, please join the PTA as your contribution supports all students in our school. It’s only a click away!”
