Boys’ Basketball Intramurals Get Underway Tonight

September 14, 2022

A free evening intramural high school boys’ basketball program is set to get underway tonight (Wednesday) from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School gym. It is open to Huntington High School students. The program will run on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings until mid-November.

Huntington students enrolled in grades 9-12 are eligible to attend. These school sponsored sessions will include general conditioning and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of basketball.

Attendance at all sessions is not required. Participate when it is convenient. Participants should come dressed ready to play and arrange for transportation home no later than 8:30 p.m.

You do not have to be on the JV or varsity basketball teams to attend the intramural program. Blue Devil varsity coaches Peter Lipka and Kevin Thorbourne will supervise the intramurals.

Participants are sure to have fun. There will be an opportunity to drill and scrimmage. The program is expected to run until the week before the winter sports season begins on Monday, November 14.

Contact Coach Lipka at (203) 687-6084 for more information.
