Huntington High School varsity athletic teams will be led by a dynamic group of captains this fall. The 11 separate Blue Devil squads are all striving for success. Every team has been practicing since August 22 and many have already climbed high in the standings of their respective league.

Coaches have announced the names of 27 fall captains. Most are well known to Blue Devil fans after many years of exceptional performances. Immediately upon being named, all of the captains went about setting a positive and encouraging tone for their teammates.

Teams, led by their captains will take on a one-time, one-day project in an effort to give back to the community that so generously supports the academic and co-curricular programs.

Projects will be featured on Huntington UFSD’s website and social media platforms and ultimately submitted to the NYSPHSAA for consideration for its community service award.

The ultimate goal is to have all Blue Devil sports programs participating in a community service project during their respective season. Captains are expected to play a key role in helping to get the initiative off the ground.
