Huntington (13-3) is the No. 3 seed in the Suffolk playoffs. The Blue Devils are scheduled to host a playoff game at home on Saturday. Game time is tentatively set for 9 a.m.

Coached by Kathy Wright and Allison Conlon, Huntington is in the midst of a magical season. The team is loaded with talent and boasts excellence at offense and defense and in the goal with senior Carlee Schultz.

Sachem North scored first against Huntington despite the Blue Devils dominating the opening minutes of play. Once Huntington got fully untracked, there was no stopping its offense.

Laurel Bonn, one of Suffolk’s top players, scored one goal and added an assist. The senior now has 13 goals and six assists for 19 points, which ties her for ninth in the county.

Charlotte Curtin, Tessie Maerz and Brooke Parks also scored in the game. Grace Agrillo had an assist. Schultz made seven saves in goal. Sachem North goalie Kaylise McClure was spectacular, recording a remarkable 23 saves in the game.

Huntington continues to play well. The Blue Devils have grit, that’s for sure. Agrillo, who serves as team captain along with Bonn, Maerz, Gemma Cartwright and Erin Scanlon, plays every minute of every game to win, as do her teammates.

“I grew up with two older sisters, Sarah and Megan who both wore a Blue Deviluniform since their days at Finley,” Agrillo said. “I have watched them both wear that uniform almost year round. So to me it was extra special to put on a Blue Devil jersey. I’m so proud to be an athlete here at Huntington. I feel like I have gained friends and relationships that will last forever.”
