Blue Devil Athletes Capture Fall Season Honors

Forty-seven Blue Devil varsity athletes captured fall season honors, including two who garnered All-State recognition.

The athletes were members of varsity teams coached by John Walsh, John Pagano, Todd Donaghy, Michael Marinello, John Romano, Mark Jackson, Kathy Wright, Steve Muller, Christopher Helmke, Jamie Fishlow and Jacqueline Lazzarini.

Many of the athletes were already honored or will soon be honored at county awards dinners for their respective sport.

The honorees include:

Girls’ soccer: Gianna Forte (All-League), Hope Bilkey (All-League), Reese Rinaldi (All-League)

Boys’ soccer: Kevin Velez (All-League), Ian Husselbeck (All-Conference), Kieran Husselbeck (All-Conference, All-County), Nicholas Plachta (Academic All-County)

Girls’ volleyball: Megan Donaghy (All-League, Academic All-County), Kate Barba (All-League), Lauren Donaghy (All-League), Renee McKean (All-League honorable mention), Lauren Gennarelli (All-League honorable mention, Academic All-County), Haileigh Smith (All-League honorable mention, Academic All-County)

Boys’ golf: Will Fallon (All-League, All-Conference, All-County), James Rosselli (All-League, All-Conference)

Boys’ cross country: Matthew Armstrong (All-League, All-Division, Second Team All-County), Ian Rotunno (Second Team All-League)

Girls’ cross country: Kiley Barch (Second Team All-League)

Field hockey: Laurel Bonn (All-State, Suffolk Defensive Player of the Year), Grace Agrillo (All-County), Tessie Maerz (All-County), Erin Scanlon (All-County), Charlotte Curtin (Honorable Mention All-County), Gemma Cartwright (Honorable Mention All-County), Carlee Schultz (Honorable Mention All-County Goalkeeper Award), Kaci McDonald (All-Classification), Ella O’Heir (All-Tournament), Brooke Parks (All-Tournament), Olivia Polinsky (All-Tournament), Laura Curtin (Unsung Hero)
