Deck the Halls at Huntington High School

December 15, 2022

Huntington High School students are getting into the spirit of the season. Dozens of teenagers spent hours afterschool on Wednesday decorating first and second floor hallways to help create a festive atmosphere.

“Deck the Halls was an event created by student government to spread the joy and spirit of the season throughout the building,” said David Moriarty, who along with Danielle Raguzin serves as the student government faculty advisor. Student Government officers have been planning out how they want to create a focused display in their assigned hallway for the last few weeks.”

All students were invited to participate in creating the displays and to have the theme of their display spill down their assigned hallways.

“Past themes have included The Grinch, Winter Wonderland and other more general displays featuring Christmas trees, menorahs and other holiday symbols to be sure to represent our diverse student body,” Mr. Moriarty said.

The kids involved had a great time. “A special thank you to the PTA who offered to provide hot chocolate and snacks to the participants this year,” Mr. Moriarty said. “The displays will provide holiday cheer for everyone in the building until they come down just before vacation begins next week.”
