A group of ten Huntington High School seniors celebrated NCAA signing day with a ceremony in the school auditorium that recognized the teenagers for committing to play on the sports teams of a large variety of colleges.
The seniors and their parents came to the ceremony decked out in the apparel of their respective college. They sat at tables situated in the auditorium’s orchestra pit before Blue Devil backdrops and participated in mock letter of intent signings as school officials, including Superintendent James W. Polansky and Principal Brenden Cusack stood nearby.
The seniors include Grace Agrillo (Binghamton University; lacrosse), Anthony Annunziata (Yale University; lacrosse), Sammy Mac Arner (Rollins College, lacrosse), Laurel Bonn (Binghamton University, lacrosse), Aidan Carrello (Georgetown University, lacrosse), Gianna Forte (Stony Brook University, lacrosse), Matthew Gerardi (Albright College, baseball), Michael Kline (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, lacrosse), Pierre Leroy (Loyola University Maryland, swimming) and Kathryn Montefusco (Villanova University, swimming).
The seniors posed for what seemed to be an endless series of photos with their parents, classmates and school officials. Even some grandparents were in attendance.
Additional signing day ceremonies are anticipated as more Huntington seniors complete the recruiting process and commit to college athletic programs.
