Southdown Primary School recently celebrated its April Stars of the Month, recognizing a group of boys and girls who richly deserved to be honored.
The students were selected by their teachers based upon their overall effort and performance in classrooms and all around the building and school grounds. They are a spectacular set young people who go about their daily routines with energy and enthusiasm, taking pride in everything they do.
Southdown Principal Jill Amott-Erwig took delight in presenting the awards to the April honorees, who are working hard with their teachers and classmates. The students were proud of their achievement.
The Splash Awards are named for the school’s mascot; a dolphin, which is well known for splashing water on anyone nearby.
April’s Splash Award recipients include:
Universal Pre-Kindergarten: Anna Savatta; Kindergarten: Michael Macco, Emily Rizzi, Genesis Lopez Velasquez, Nicholas Pagan; First Grade: Nicole Johnson, Michael Distl, Ashley Hernandez Velasquez; Second Grade: William O’Dwyer, Harrison Weston, Dayana Leiva-Jandres, Carlos Ortez Flores, Darius Clarke, Jr.; Third Grade: Hendrik Peters, Sean Purcell, Carlos Quintanilla Garay, Julianna Araujo Hernandez
