Robbie Smith scored five goals and added an assist and Aidan McNulty tallied four goals and five assists to pace the Huntington varsity boys’ lacrosse team in a 12-6 season opening victory at Sachem East this week.
The Blue Devils led 4-1 after the first period and 8-3 at halftime. Huntington went on to outscore Sachem East in the second half, 4-3.

Coached by Julian Watts, Andrew Gutierrez and Patrick Reilly, the Blue Devils are captained by Jahiem Hawkins, Liam Lennon, Harrison Krywak, Chris Maichin, Jack O’Brien and Robbie Smith.
Huntington’s Anthony Annunziata, Chris Maichin and Jack O’Brien also scored goals in the game. Liam Lennon picked up three assists. Sammy Mac Arner stopped 12 shots in goal. Matthew Mead came on to record a pair of saves in the cage.

The Blue Devils will play three straight home games, beginning on Friday (April 1) when Huntington hosts Sachem North at 4 p.m. Cold Spring Harbor will visit on Monday (April 4) for a 4:30 p.m. game and Southampton/East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson/Riverhead/Hampton Bays plays at Huntington on Wednesday, April 6 at 4:30 p.m.
