Katie Browne has high hopes that her senior season with the Huntington High School girls’ lacrosse team will be a year to remember.
The teenager is one of the best players on Long Island this spring and new Blue Devil head coach Shea Scully needs Browne’s offensive firepower and leadership skills to help make the year a successful one.

“Katie is an amazing and versatile athlete and she continues to be a crucial asset to Huntington’s sports program as a three-sport athlete,” Scully said. “She always gives 110 percent when she steps on the field and her intensity is contagious.”
Browne has captained the Blue Devil soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams, carrying all three to the post-season. The teenager has committed to play lacrosse at NCAA Division I Bucknell University.
“Katie has proven to be a leader for any team she has been a part of,” Scully said. “We are extremely lucky to have her as part of our program.”
Browne tallied 30 goals and 12 assists as a junior. “She is an attack player, but was used as a midfielder last year to meet the team’s needs,” Scully said. “She took on the challenge with no questions asked, which led her to excel and improve in all aspects across the field.”
The teenager is excited for her final year in a Blue Devil uniform. “This season, we have high expectations,” Browne said. “We really look very good already and we have so many new additions to the team that will be key assets for this season. I can’t wait to start playing games.”
