Could this be the year? The Huntington High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team enters the season with high hopes. The Blue Devils have their collective eyes on the county championship, but first the squad needs to navigate its way through a tough schedule of games.
The Blue Devils are led by captains Jahiem Hawkins, Liam Lennon, Harrison Krywak, Chris Maichin, Jack O’Brien and Robbie Smith. Julian Watts is the team’s head coach and Andrew Gutierrez and Patrick Reilly are the assistant coaches.

The full roster includes freshman Timothy McDonald; sophomores Thomas Girimonti and Dan McNulty; juniors Riley Ackerman, Anthony Annunziata, Sammy Mac Arner, Brett Bender, Peter Breingan, Aidan Carrello, Tyler Johnson and Michael Kline; seniors Robert Eriksen, Ethan Evans, Jahiem Hawkins, Paul Knieriem, Harrison Krywak, Liam Lennon, Christopher Maichin, Aidan McNulty, Matthew Mead, Jack O’Brien, Lucas Petrizzi, Ryan Porzio, Robert Smith, Brian Sosnowski and Christopher Tittman. The Blue Devils’ team managers are Grace Stolfa and Adrianna LoScalzo.
Huntington scrimmaged Kellenberg at Blue Devil Stadium on Monday. A second scrimmage is scheduled for today (Wednesday) at Harborfields. The Blue Devils will host Hingham of Massachusetts for a scrimmage on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Huntington will play home games this spring against Sachem North, Cold Spring Harbor, Southampton/East Hampton/Hampton Bays, Bay Shore, Northport, Smithtown East, Half Hollow Hills and Longwood. Away games are scheduled at Sachem East, Commack, Ward Melville, Lindenhurst, William Floyd, Middle Country and Connetquot.
