A series of Thursday night girls’ volleyball clinics and intramurals are set for Huntington High School and J. Taylor Finley Middle School students.

The free sessions will begin on Thursday, March 24 and continue on April 7, April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, May 26, June 2 and June 9. The evenings will feature skill instruction and play.

Finley seventh and eighth graders are scheduled for 6:30-7:30 p.m. on those nights with Huntington High School students set for 7:00-8:30 p.m.

All sessions will be held in the J. Taylor Finley Middle School gym. Blue Devil varsity girls’ volleyball head coach Todd Donaghy is coordinating the free program.

These school sponsored sessions will include general conditioning and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of volleyball. Attendance at all sessions is not required. Participate when it is convenient.

Sign up for the program’s SportsYou page (download the app on your iPhone or Android) using code 6E5L3U62 for information regarding the weekly intramurals and clinics.

The sessions are open to all girls in grades 7-12. Previous experience is not necessary.

Send a message to Coach Donaghy (HuntingtonVball@aol.com) for more information.

Interest in girls’ volleyball in Huntington UFSD is soaring. The varsity came within one win of qualifying for the playoffs last fall and more than 120 seventh and eighth graders turned out for the Finley team this past November.
