Kasmira Mohanty is an internationally recognized digital artist who currently teaches at Huntington High School. She has “proudly” served the district since 2001.
From 2008 to 2017, Ms. Mohanty was the faculty advisor for Huntington’s Art Honor Society. She holds degrees from The Fashion Institute of Technology, Purchase College and Dowling College. Her students have followed her lead winning numerous awards and recognition annually.
Many of Ms. Mohanty’s advanced digital artists are sought after to create graphics and digital imagery for professional organizations and events. Outside the classroom, she is an executive board member for Suffolk County Art Leaders Association and the Huntington Arts Council.
A contributing editor and writer for Davis Publications’ SchoolArts Magazine, Ms. Mohanty hosted Davis Publications Media Arts Intensive, an online professional development opportunity for teachers interested in integrating media arts into their curriculum. She was a guest on the K12 ArtChat podcast.
Ms. Mohanty is also an award-winning exhibition, commercial and installation artist. Locally, she has artwork on two traffic boxes in Huntington and she has exhibited pieces as far away as Croatia and Los Angeles to venues closer to home, such as The Heckscher Museum of Art and The Provincetown Art Museum.
