Cameron Batts is one of the best and brightest at Woodhull Intermediate School. The sixth grader is the student council president and he has the drive and ambition to go all the way to the Oval Office. Yes, that Oval Office.

“My experience in Huntington UFSD and at Woodhull School has been amazing and I’m glad I get to have the privilege of attending this school,” Mr. Batts said. “I’m glad that I decided to go to Woodhull because I get to see my best friends from primary school. Woodhull also gives me opportunities to meet new people and make new friends.”

Mr. Batts’ favorite subject is math, “because I’m good with numbers and math has taught me a lot of things, such as hard work, how to think deeper into things and how to solve problems,” the youngster said.

His favorite faculty member is currently Keith Meyers. “He’s an amazing math teacher,” Mr. Batts said. “He taught me that I should never give up.”

Another teacher favorite is Karen Melara. “She was my second grade teacher and she now teaches here at Woodhull,” Mr. Batts said. “If a genie gave me one wish, it would be that Ms. Melara was my teacher every year. She has also taught me that I should never give up no matter how hard something is.”

The student council president enjoys playing basketball in his free time. “Once I get to Finley, I want to try-out for the basketball and track teams,” Mr. Batts said.

The sixth grader said his best friends at Woodhull include Justin Garcia-Romero, Sabrina Bijou, Karly Maldonado, Jayleen Rosales, Eduardo Chavez, Khloe Gram, Natalin Velasquez and Kevin Diaz. “These people are really special to me because they make every day better,” Mr. Batts said.

The youngster doesn’t have slightest idea where he is destined to attend college, but he’s sure of what job he would like to land. “When I am older, I want to be president of the United States,” Mr. Batts said. “My backup plan is to be an entrepreneur or a real estate agent.”
