There are several intramural opportunities on the horizon for J. Taylor Finley Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls who are interested in lacrosse.
Huntington High School varsity coaches Shea Scully, Katie Reilly and Chris Taylor will hold a clinic/intramural program next Saturday (March 12) at Finley. Seventh graders are invited to attend from 10-11 a.m. with eighth graders scheduled for 11 a.m. – 12 noon.
A second set of intramurals coordinated by Finley head coach Hildi Stanford and assistant coach Greg Dieterich is slated for Wednesday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 23 from 3-5 p.m. also on the Finley girls’ lacrosse field. These school sponsored sessions are not tryouts. They will include general conditioning, stick skills and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of explore. Attendance at all of the sessions is not required. Participate when it is convenient.
Participants will be able to explore offensive, defensive and special skills as individual interest dictates.
All Finley girls who are interested in lacrosse are invited to attend these free sessions. Participants should report dressed and ready to play. Bring a lacrosse stick.
