The Huntington High School Art Honor Society has inducted a new class of members to swell its ranks and reinvigorate the organization.
The organization is led by co-Presidents Jazlyn Chapas-Oliva and Ella Naima, Vice President Cecilia Kye, Secretary Grace Colavecchio and Treasurer Gabriella Miller. Art teacher Jenna Rinaldi serves as the faculty advisor.
Huntington High School Principal Brenden Cusack and Superintendent James W. Polansky were among those in the crowd for the induction ceremony.
The 23 new inductees include Layna Abraham, Alex Adonis, Koi Crowder, Katerina Damiano, Deanna Elvir, Annika Galvin, Jacqueline Gonzalez-Alvarez, Abigail Hopson, Samantha Koepele, Talia Koas, Lauren Landolfi, Sophie Lange, Lilianna LaVertu, Danielle Mendikyan, Jason Mizwa, Kathryn Montefusco, Hannah Song, Elizabeth Stair, Jordan Ross, Jack Ruthkowski, Sol Rodriguez-Arevalo, Jordana Paniccia and Olivia Polinsky.
The ceremony included readings by Ms. Chapas-Oliva and Ms. Kye. Each of the inductees was presented with a membership certificate and a bouquet of roses.
“This year, we have been very active, hosting a photo booth at the homecoming bonfire festival, coordinating holiday sales at winter concerts, collaborating with other clubs to create artwork around the high school for events, including posters for PS I Love You Day and World Language Week and, once again, participating in the Memory Project, a non-for-profit organization that provides orphans with student made artwork,” Ms. Rinaldi said.
