Huntington High School Art Honor Society members got into the spirit of the month by painting The Rock in honor of the Class of 2022.

Designed by senior Erik Flores Reyes, the painting encompassed the positive feel of graduation. Seniors who participated in the actual painting included Mr. Flores Reyes, Grace Colavecchio, Keylin Quintanilla Villalobos, Alex Adonis, and Yanira Rivera. Art Honor Society faculty advisor Jenna Rinaldi oversaw the project, arranging for materials and providing guidance.

The five seniors are all distinguished artists and great all-around teenagers. Mr. Flores Reyes will be attending Boston College on a full scholarship. Ms. Colavecchio is headed to Binghamton University while Mr. Adonis plans to study at SUNY College at Old Westbury. Ms. Rivera has a full scholarship to attend CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Ms. Quintanilla Villalobos will be attending Suffolk Community College

Huntington’s Art Honor Society is led by co-Presidents Jazlyn Chapas-Oliva and Ella Naima, Vice President Cecilia Kye, Secretary Grace Colavecchio and Treasurer Gabriella Miller.

“This year, we have been very active, hosting a photo booth at the homecoming bonfire festival, coordinating holiday sales at winter concerts, collaborating with other clubs to create artwork around the high school for events, including posters for PS I Love You Day and World Language Week and, once again, participating in the Memory Project, a non-for-profit organization that provides orphans with student made artwork,” Ms. Rinaldi said.
