Retiring Huntington UFSD faculty and staff members were recognized with flowers, plaques and warm words during last week’s Huntington School Board meeting in the Adam Spector Auditorium at Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School.
Trustees honored 27 departing employees, some of whom dedicated more than three decades to the district. Superintendent James W. Polansky spoke about each of them, offering his insights into what they have meant to Huntington UFSD.
“The board and administration are beyond grateful for the many years each of these individuals has dedicated to the children and families of Huntington,” Mr. Polansky said. “Each in their own way has left a positive imprint that has been permanently woven into the fabric of our school district community. We wish them nothing but the best of health and happiness in the years to come.”
The retirees include Maria Ambrosio (teacher aide), Cynthia Caleb (teacher aide), Antonette Frazier (monitor), Marie Nardelli (teacher aide), Janet Robertson (teacher aide), Vincenza Roseto (teacher aide), Elizabeth Meoli (teacher aide), Zaida Cortes (teacher aide), Mary Scott (teaching assistant), Mercedes Pena (teacher), Linda Costello-Roth (special education chair), Lauren Bookman (teacher), Rosa Lanoue (teacher) and Cindy Palmirotto (teacher).
