Lauren Holly, Alexis Kaloudis and Hannah Roberts captured this year’s John F. Kellog Theatre Awards and Shannon Milner and Charlotte Simon garnered the Joseph Samodi Theatre Arts Awards as the Huntington High School drama club capped off another successful campaign.

The five Huntington stars of the stage were announced as the 2022 recipients by high school drama club faculty advisor Michael Schwendemann at the senior academic awards ceremony.

Each of the five seniors received a $50 stipend. They are all veterans of Huntington High School drama and musical productions and have helped make the club one of Long Island’s finest.

Ms. Holly is headed to the University of Rhode Island where she plans to study mathematics and statistics. She cited wanting to learn and understand more every day as the key to her academic success. She served as president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Ms. Kaloudis will be attending Binghamton University. President of the Latin Honor Society and treasurer of Huntington’s Key Club chapter she was the drama club’s dance captain. A member of seven academic honor societies, she credits her family, friends and teachers for her success over the past four years.

An Advanced Placement Scholar, Ms. Roberts intends to pursue a degree in biochemistry at the University of Vermont. She said that prioritizing her future and education has been the key to her success. She excelled in the chamber choir and orchestra, jazz band and drama club and served as a National History Day club officer and Science Honor Society tutor.

Ms. Milner is taking a “gap year” after an outstanding four year high school run. Ms. Simon will be attending Loyola University Maryland. She said the key to her success has been determination and discipline. She’s especially enjoyed taking fun electives, including drawing and painting and creative writing.
