Analisse Batista is continuing a great season with the Huntington High School winter track and field team. The senior captured a pair of gold medals at the Section XI League II championships at Suffolk-West in Brentwood.
Batista swept to victory in the 300m dash in a time of 41.91 seconds and then won the 600m run in 1:39.03. She later helped Huntington take a bronze medal in the 4x200m relay.
The teenager is a returning state champion and All-American. Numerous colleges are recruiting her after she posted some of the fastest times in the nation this winter. She also runs on the Blue Devil spring track and field team.
Batista was an offensive force on last fall’s Huntington girls’ soccer team that upset Commack in the Suffolk playoffs. She is a multi-talented athlete that makes every team she is a member of better.
As a runner, Batista has competed against many of the best in the country. Her steely determination, pre-race preparation and focus during the actual race itself put her among the elite high school runners in the nation.
Many of the best college track programs in the US are in hot pursuit of Batista. Which school she will ultimately commit to is still not known, but her portfolio of achievements continues to grow weekly.
Batista has devoted untold hours to training year round. All of that work and the ongoing sacrifices she makes continues to pay off handsomely.
