Erin Ye has been named valedictorian of Huntington High School’s Class of 2022. Luke Rinaldi is this year’s salutatorian. The magnificent duo has enjoyed remarkable four year runs filled with academic and co-curricular success.

Ms. Ye and Mr. Rinaldi will both give addresses at Huntington’s 161th commencement exercises on Friday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at Blue Devil Stadium.

“To say that I am proud of these exceptional students is simply an understatement,” Principal Brenden Cusack said. “Erin and Luke are outstanding examples for all of us as they have persevered through the most challenging of times. They have represented Huntington in the finest ways possible and I am so happy for both of them. They truly embody the meaning of the phrase ‘hard work pays off.’”

Huntington’s top two seniors have captured the affection and respect of their classmates and teachers and excelled in every possible way. Their transcripts are filled with the most challenging Advanced Placement courses that Huntington offers.

Ms. Ye plans to continue her education at Stanford University in California. “I’m honored and humbled to be valedictorian of such a great class,” she said. “I also want to extend my congratulations to Luke as I’m really excited for him!”

Mr. Rinaldi is in the process of finalizing his college plans. “It’s an honor to be considered in this way, especially among such an incredible group of peers,” he said. “I’m grateful to each of my classmates for helping me to grow as a person and a student and I’m glad that my hard work has paid off. As for college, I am still waiting to hear from the majority of my schools, but I hope to major in biomedical engineering, biology or computer science.”
