The Huntington School Board has adopted a calendar for the 2022-23 school year

The Huntington School Board has adopted a proposed district calendar for the 2022/23 school year. Trustees voted unanimously at their February 7 public meeting to approve the plan, which will have school begin on Tuesday, September 6 and finish on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Teachers and staff are required to be in their respective building for meetings on Thursday and Friday, September 1-2. There will be 180 days of instruction with three other days set aside for faculty conferences. One contingency day is also built into the plan to address possible school closings due to weather or other emergencies.

Classes will not be held on September 26-27 (Rosh Hashanah, October 5 (Yom Kippur), October 10 (Columbus Day), November 8 (Election Day/Superintendent’s Conference Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), November 23-25 (Thanksgiving recess), December 26-January 2 (winter recess), January 16 (Martin Luther King Day), February 20-24 (President’s Day/mid-winter recess), April 3-10 (spring recess), April 21 (Eid al-Fitr), May 29 (Memorial Day) and June 19 (Juneteenth).

Should there be an emergency related closure during the school year, classes will be in session on April 21.
