Huntington High School’s swimmers are celebrating after winning the Suffolk League I championship by a wide margin over runner-up Half Hollow Hills. The Blue Devils and their teammates on the combined squad from Walt Whitman and Harborfields were impressive in just about every event.

Blue Devil star juniors Pierre Leroy and Evan Spagnoletti both captured first place honors in two individual events. Leroy won the 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle races and Spagnoletti was victorious in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly.

Spagnoletti, Jonathan Larice and Leroy swam on the winning 200 yard freestyle relay and 400 yard freestyle relay.

In other Huntington highlights:

• Larice placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly.
• Lucas Spagnoletti and Will Weber swam on the 200 yard medley relay that placed fourth.
• Weber captured fourth place in the 200 yard IM and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke.
• Lucas Spagnoletti finished fifth in the 100 yard butterfly and sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke.
• Maximilien Leroy placed ninth in the 100 yard backstroke and tenth in the 200 yard IM.

Coached by Meg McConnell, Huntington and its combined Walt Whitman and Harborfields teammates and coaches compiled a 7-0 regular season record, which gave them first place.
