The Huntington School District is preparing for the registration of hundreds of new kindergarten students for the 2022/23 school year. The full day program is open to all youngsters in the community who will be five years old by December 1, 2022.
Families with an eligible child should contact the district’s student registration office as soon as possible at (631) 673-4299 to obtain a registration packet. If a caller is referred to voicemail, they should leave their name, address and telephone number and their call will be promptly returned.
Completed registration packets must be received by Huntington UFSD by March 31. They can be mailed or dropped off in a mail bin that will be available at the district administrative offices at 50 Tower Street, Huntington Station from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days.
Copies of the following items are needed:
• Proof of district residency: tax bill, mortgage statement, house deed or closing statement or a notarized property owner affidavit.
• Any three of the following items: current utility bill; social services statement; medical bills; pay stubs; credit card statements.
• Student’s original birth certificate.
• Student’s certificate of immunization and physical exam.
• Parent/guardian’s photo identification.

Screenings will be conducted by appointment only at the district’s four primary school buildings according to the following schedule: Tuesday, April 12 at Washington Primary School; Thursday, April 14 at Flower Hill Primary School; Tuesday, April 26 at Jefferson Primary School; Friday, April 29 at Southdown Primary School.
Make-up screening sessions are set for Thursday and Friday, May 5-6 at Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School.
