The Huntington School District is accepting applications for its 2022/23 universal pre-kindergarten program, which will be held in collaboration with SCOPE and the YMCA. The deadline to submit an application is April 8.
The program is open to Huntington UFSD resident children who will be four years old by December 1, 2022. The program will follow the district’s school calendar. Depending on New York State funding, the district anticipates the program will run five hours daily (from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), five days per week with 163 seats available.
Classes will be held at Flower Hill Primary School, Jefferson Primary School, Southdown Primary School and Washington Primary School and the YMCA.
Student placement at individual buildings will be dependent on specific registration numbers and school attendance zones. If necessary, a lottery will be held on Wednesday, April 13. Registration for the program will follow the lottery and parent notifications. Residency documentation will be required during the registration process.
SCOPE will hold a virtual meeting for those interested in the program on March 22 at 1 p.m. Call 631.673.2073 to register.
