Washington Primary School faculty and support staff members love to celebrate student achievements. They don’t have to be eye-catching accomplishments. Little “successes” here and there are worthy of recognition, too.
So when a youngster is named a Washington Winner, as the Student of the Month Award recipients are “officially” referred is a really big deal.
Principal Michelle Richards was thrilled to announce the names of the March award winners. As the names rang out over the building’s public address system, the youngsters marched down to the main lobby to accept congratulations along with a colorful certificate denoting their achievement.
“We have such a great group of boys and girls studying at Washington this year,” Dr. Richards said. “We are quite proud of them and very happy to be able to honor some very deserving children.”
The March award recipients include Jacob Echevarria, Jaslin Velasquez, Riley Johnson, Sarahi Posada Lopez, Ander Mendoza Franco, William Yoda, Camilo Batista, Myles Wong, Stella Kekatos, Kenneth Samayoa, Alexander Franco, Anthony Portillo Vasquez, Melanie Pin, Emily Lizama, Emma Alvarado, Jonathan Mejia and Jennifer Mendoza Canas.
The entire classes of first grade teacher Suzanne Catrini and second grade teacher Yohaina Martinez were also recognized for their exceptional hard work, cooperation, respect and responsibility displayed throughout the month of March.
“We are looking forward to a great spring at Washington,” Dr. Richards said.
